What to Expect From a Session
Introductory sessions include a brief orthopedic assessment in which you answer questions related to your specific concerns, and perform simple, pain-free movements that will help to define and clarify your areas of chief complaint. Once you are on the massage table, sessions can be performed with you clothed, or more commonly draped under a sheet, and are always designed to meet your comfort level and your body’s needs.
During your session, you may be asked to lie on your side, supported by pillows, or on your back and/or stomach, depending on what is best for your body. Minimal oil or lotion and scent-free products are generally used, unless otherwise requested. Each session incorporates a blend of massage strokes and simple, painless, resisted techniques.
